Administration
Mark Hayden, Principal

My name is Mark Hayden and I am honored to serve as the Principal of Conway Elementary School for the 2025-2026 School Year! I am entering my 21st Year in public education and previously served as an 8th Grade English Teacher (6 years, MCPS), a Middle School Assistant Principal (3 years, ACPS), an Elementary School Assistant Principal (6 years, LCPS), an Elementary School Principal (5 years, LCPS) and am excited about joining Stafford County Public Schools and the Conway Learning Community! I thoroughly enjoy working with children and am passionate about meeting the needs of the whole child.
I am driven by a core belief that education should provide children with opportunities to discover their
dreams and then equip them with the skills necessary to pursue those dreams. Although I love working
with all children, I have spent most of my career working in Title I Schools with high percentages of
English Learners. I thoroughly enjoy working with the unique population of students that I serve and my
experiences have transformed who I am as both a Leader and an Educator.
Before joining Public Education, I honorably served 4 years as a United States Marine in Quantico,
VA., and achieved the rank of Sergeant. Although I mainly worked with Marines while serving in Active
Duty, I had a unique opportunity to work with and develop the leadership capacity of children by
volunteering at the annual JROTC Leadership Camp in Baltimore, MD. During my time in the Marine
Corps, I discovered my own dream of becoming an educator and transforming the lives of students!
The majority of my professional education is from George Mason University, where I earned a
Bachelor of Arts Degree in English, a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Master of
Education in Education Leadership. Prior to attending George Mason, I attended Northern Virginia
Community College (NOVA) in Woodbridge, VA, while serving as a United States Marine.
In additional to being an Educator, I am also a Husband and Father of two incredible boys who are in
High School and Middle School. Although I love my Career and believe the work of Educators is among
the most meaningful of any profession, I value spending time with my Family and believe Family comes first!
Krystyne Meyer, Assistant Principal

Dear Conway Cougars,
I am thrilled to join Conway Elementary School as your new Assistant Principal! After spending 20 wonderful years with Team Stafford, I can’t wait to bring my passion and experience to our amazing community.
I started my journey as an itinerant teacher and then became a special education teacher right here at Conway. Most recently, I served as the Special Education Department Chair at Rising Star Early Childhood Center. My goal has always been to create inclusive learning environments where every student, regardless of their abilities, can engage in intentional and meaningful experiences.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing from the College of New Jersey and my Master of Arts in Deaf Education from Gallaudet University. I was honored to be recognized as Teacher of the Year at Conway Elementary in 2022, which only fueled my commitment to our students and community.
I’m excited to work alongside our incredible staff, students, and families to make this school year the best one yet. Let’s show our Conway spirit and make wonderful memories together! Go Cougars!
Warm regards,
Ms. Krystyne Meyer
Jessica Olesevich, Assistant Principal

Hello Conway Cougars!
I have loved every moment of being part of the Conway community and am thrilled to be returning for my fourth year as Assistant Principal for the 2025–26 school year!
My journey in education began at Penn State University, where I studied Special Education. I started my teaching career in Prince William County as a Special Educator—first supporting students with learning disabilities, then working in a program for students with Autism. After five years in the classroom, I transitioned to the central office as a Behavior Specialist. In 2018, I joined Stafford County Public Schools as the division’s first Behavior Analyst, supporting schools across the county in using data-driven practices to meet the needs of students requiring behavioral support.
Along the way, I earned a Master’s Degree in Special Education, as well as graduate certificates in Applied Behavior Analysis and Educational Planning, Policy, and Leadership. I have been a Licensed Behavior Analyst since 2017, and I’m passionate about using the science of behavior to support students and staff every day.
On a personal note, I grew up just north of Pittsburgh, PA. My husband, Kyle, and I have two young children—one here at Conway and one who will be joining us in a few short years! In my free time, I love spending time with my family, listening to podcasts, working out, and walking our two dogs.
I truly believe in the power of the home-school partnership. Together, we can guide our children to become confident leaders of their own lives. Please know my door is always open—I welcome your conversation, ideas, and collaboration throughout the year.
We are… Conway #OneFamily!
