🐾 Meet Our Mascot, the Cougar: Did you know? Back in the spring of 2005, even before our doors opened, our spirited students voted proudly for the cougar as our beloved mascot.

🎨 Vibrant Colors: Our colors reflect our energy and unity—red, tan, and navy blue adorn our halls, inspiring creativity and school pride.

🚂 Embracing the Train Theme: Adjacent to the Leeland Station train station, we infuse the excitement of trains into our school's ambiance, creating a unique and engaging environment.

🏫 Engaged Administration: You'll find our administration actively involved and readily accessible throughout our building, passionately visiting classrooms and fostering a supportive learning atmosphere.

🌟 Belief in Every Student's Potential: At Conway, we hold the firm belief that every student can learn and grow into leaders of their lives. We utilize various tools, such as the principles from "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" by Stephen Covey and Responsive Classroom strategies, to empower our students towards success.

Conway

Goal 1:  Support high expectations for academic performance and expand opportunities for every student.

Objective 1:  Every student will meet annual growth goals  in Literacy, grades K-5.

Objective 2:   Every student will meet annual growth goals in Mathematics, grades K-5.  

 

Target 1:  (mid-year) 4th and 5th (reading and math): On midyear MAP, we will improve our % of students making expected growth by 5%.  

  • 2nd and 3rd:  On midyear math MAP, we will improve our % of students making expected growth by 5%. 

  • K-3:  On midyear PALs, 85% (or higher)  of students will meet benchmark across all performance indicators.

Target 2:  (end of year) 4th and 5th:   On end of year MAP, we will improve our % of students making expected growth by 10%.  

  • 2nd and 3rd:  On end of year math MAP, we will improve our % of students making expected growth by 10%. 

  • On end of year VKRP for Kinder, we will improve our % of students making expected benchmark by 15%.  

  • K-3:  On end of year PALs, 90% (or higher)  of students will meet benchmark across all performance indicators.

Goal 2:  Support high expectations for academic performance and expand opportunities for every student.

 

Objective: Stafford County Public Schools will lead Virginia’s Region III and Northern Virginia in academic performance. 

 

Target 1:  On each CFA given this year, 80% of all students will demonstrate mastery of the concepts taught (3rd - 5th )   

Target 2:  On the end of year Science SOL, 80% of all students will pass.

 

Goal 3:  Ensure every student, staff, and family member receives a safe, engaging, and welcoming environment in our schools.

Objective:  Close gaps in climate perception across and within schools for students, teachers, and families.

 

Target 1:  We will decrease the total number of tier 1 discipline referrals by 15% for the year (comparison to last year)

Target 2:  By the end of the year, we will maintain all areas in our climate survey and will improve the following areas by at least .5:

  • Teachers:  Fairness and clear expectations and communication from administrators 

  • Efficacy
